The IUB Approves Permit — But We’re Still Stopping This!

On March 10th, 2016 the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) granted a permit which would allow Dakota Access to build a 347-mile crude oil pipeline that would slice through the middle of Iowa.

But the Bakken Pipeline Resistance Coalition (BPRC) and its 28 statewide member organizations remain committed to ensuring the Bakken Pipeline is never built.  We hope you’ll join us as we continue the fight for a Bakken Pipeline-free Iowa.

Leaders from our 28 member organizations are gathering next week to discuss direct action organizing and our next steps as a coalition. Keep an eye on your email inbox next Thursday, March 17th. We’ll send details and next steps regarding how to stay involved in shaping our pipeline-free future. If you haven’t already, sign up for email here.

In the mean time, we hope you’ll consider supporting the fight for a Bakken Pipeline-free Iowa by clicking hereYour tax-deductible gift will enable our coalition to keep up the fight.

Angie Carter of the Women, Food and Agriculture Network says it well — “We will not allow this crude oil pipeline through our farmlands. We will not allow our communities’ water supplies to be put at risk. We will not give in to a bullying pipeline company. We will continue to stand with Iowa landowners to protect their rights and the well-being of all Iowans.”

Onward, Iowa!
