Join us June 25th to Protect Our Rivers as the Summer of Resistance Continues!

We continue our call upon the US Army Corps to deny its permit for the Bakken pipeline. We refuse to allow Dakota Access to endanger our land, water, health, and climate. Thanks to your efforts, the Bakken pipeline is not a done deal and our Summer of Resistance continues to grow!

Water is life. Join us Saturday, June 25th for a day of action and community along the Des Moines River in Pilot Mound, IA.

Meet us at 10 am to arrange shuttles and park cars. We will begin with a press conference at 11 am at Norton’s Ford Access at  75 Juniper Rd. Pilot Mound. From noon to 2 pm, we will lead a canoe and kayak flotilla along the section of the Des Moines River where Dakota Access wants to bury their Bakken pipeline. After the flotilla, we will host a gathering of food, music, and fellowship at the community center in Pilot Mound beginning at 3 pm.

Join us for all or part of the day! This is a family event and all are welcome. We will have plenty of canoes available for our morning flotilla (suggested donation to cover rental is $10/person). Additionally, we welcome volunteers and non-paddlers to join us in the morning to cheer on the paddlers, take photos, and help with banners.June 25 Flotilla

Please register by June 20th so we can best plan boat rentals and food.

Coming from out of town? There are great local camping options in the area–here are a few–and we recommend reservations where available:

See you on Saturday, June 25th! Thanks for all you do to continue to stand up to Big Oil and stand with our neighbors on the frontlines of this fight!

In Solidarity,

The Bakken Pipeline Resistance Family

Can’t attend on the 25th but want to support our work? Your tax-deductible donation will help us continue the fight.
